Greater Dawrai Community Association (GDCA) UK Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Greater Dawrai Community Association UK was successfully held in the presence of a large number of Dawrai residents living in the United Kingdom, originally from the historic village of Dawrai in Jagannathpur Thana.

The event took place on Sunday, 13th July 2025, at the London Muslim Centre in East London. The meeting was presided over and inaugurated by GDCA Chairman Mr Anis Ali, with proceedings conducted by General Secretary Mr Mahboob Islam (Hanif).

Speeches were delivered by former Chairman and current Senior Vice Chairman Mr Amir Hussain, former Chairman Mr Anhar Miah, community pride and former East London Mosque Chairman Mr Ayub Khan, Vice Chairman Mr Tarif Khan, former Vice Chairman Mr Shahin Miah, Joint Secretary Mr Ruhul Ameen, Treasurer Mr Shahin Miah (UD), Mr Faruk Miah (Zilu), Deputy Treasurer Mr Moshiur Rahman (Raja), Mr Hiron Miah and Mr Alim Uddin Khan as well as others.

Also present were Mr Abdal Miah, Mr Shah Azmal Ali (Shifu), Mr Roof Miah, Mr Kohirul Islam as well as other respected figures from the Dawrai community.

The meeting heard about the progress of the Association including the Chairman's Report, General Secretary's Report and Treasurer's Report.

Future plans were also dscussed and the floor opened for a general discussion with all members.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks and closing remarks from Chairman Mr Anis Ali.
