Dawrai Floods Appeal 2022

In 2022, we were all aware that Sylhet and Sunamganj had suffered unprecedented devastation due to the worst flooding to hit South Asia in living memory.

Our beloved village of Dawrai did not escape the wrath of this natural disaster and the water damaged everything in its path. The water level was so high that houses were damaged and swept away, stored crops have been lost and animals died.

Our family and friends back home in Greater Dawrai were facing the huge challenge of rebuilding their homes and their livelihood whilst fighting against flood related disease.

Greater Dawrai Community Association UK stood by the needy and raised £9,352.50 with the continuous support and generosity of our Members.
